# Update a brand (/docs/brands/update)

Use `PATCH /v1/brands/{id}` to change one or more fields. Omitted fields keep their current values.

```bash
curl -X PATCH https://api.trackee.dev/v1/brands/BRAND_ID \
  -H "x-access-key: YOUR_ACCESS_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "aliases": ["Acme Inc.", "Acme PM"],
    "location": "United Kingdom",
    "engines": ["chatgpt", "claude", "gemini"]
  }'
```

## Replace one saved list [#replace-one-saved-list]

The dedicated prompt, competitor, and keyword endpoints replace their whole list. Send every value you want to keep.

```bash
curl -X PUT https://api.trackee.dev/v1/brands/BRAND_ID/prompts \
  -H "x-access-key: YOUR_ACCESS_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "prompts": [
      "What is the best project management software for startups?",
      "Which tools help remote product teams ship on time?"
    ]
  }'
```

Use the equivalent endpoints for [`competitors`](/docs/api/brands/setBrandCompetitors) and [`keywords`](/docs/api/brands/setBrandKeywords).

Existing snapshots keep the values recorded when they ran. A tracker without prompt or engine overrides uses the brand's updated lists on later runs.

See the complete [`PATCH /v1/brands/{id}` reference](/docs/api/brands/updateBrand).
