Brands
Brands overview
Understand when to save a brand and what its configuration controls.
A brand is the center of a Trackee workflow. It stores the identity and research inputs for one company or product. Creating, reading, updating, and deleting brands is free.
You can call most analysis endpoints with values such as brand, domain, or keywords directly. Save a brand when you want to reuse those values, build history, run recurring trackers, or read brand-level overview data.
Brand fields
| Field | What to store |
|---|---|
name | The main brand or product name. |
domain | The domain used by rank and domain research endpoints. |
aliases | Other names that should count as the same brand, such as a legal name or abbreviation. |
category | An optional label for your own organization. |
location | The market for saved research settings. It defaults to United States. |
engines | Any of chatgpt, claude, gemini, and perplexity. |
prompts | Real questions a buyer might ask an AI assistant. |
competitors | Brand names to detect beside your brand in AI answers. |
keywords | Search queries to reuse with keyword and rank workflows. |
Use aliases for names, not domains. For example, Acme Corporation might use Acme Corp and Acme as aliases, while acme.com belongs in domain.
What the brand ID enables
Pass the returned data.id as brandId to:
- save live visibility results as snapshots;
- run scheduled trackers and retain history;
- use the saved domain in rank and domain research requests;
- use the saved keyword list in keyword-volume requests;
- read a free overview, timeline, or recommendations report.
